福井県にある森川レースにて編み上げ。
“編物” であることが最大の特徴。織物と違いよこ糸がありません。
このSASHICOシリーズは “穴だらけのネット生地(レース)を専門に作るレース機” を応用させ、一見織物に見える生地を編機で作ることで今までにない新しい素材となっています。

刺子(ステッチ)の部分は、データデザインを手掛ける方の協力のもと、「手縫い感」にこだわり実現。地にはジグザクにうねったような “編み目” が見て取れますが、これはコットンを編んでいるラッセルの筬の動きで、ほつれや目外れ防止のためでもあります。編み上がった生地を後染めし、近江にてちぢみ加工も施しています。

Knitted at Morikawa Lace, Fukui Prefecture.
The most distinctive, and surprising feature is that it is a knitted fabric. Unlike woven fabrics, there is no weft.
The SASHICO series is made by using a lace machine that specializes making a net fabric. With this machine we have managed to make a new type of weave-like lace fabric that has never been seen before.

Sashiko is usually done by hand but has been skillfully replicated to be machine manufactured by a data designer. Sashiko is used to reinforce fabric and prevent fraying and wear. The fabric then dyed after it is knitted and processed in Omi.

Material: 70% cotton, 30% nylon
Tailoring: unlined garment (men's and women's)
