干支手拭第６弾。
Y. & SONS では 綿きもの “片貝木綿” や刺子藍染めの “火消コート” でお馴染みの、新潟県は小千谷市片貝町にある、紺仁染織工房にてお作りいただきました。
2023年の干支は、【兎】。
向かって左には「兎」の角文字を、
右には「紺仁」とY. & SONS のロゴを配置しています。
卯年は、芽を出した植物が成長し、茎や葉が大きくなる時期で、目に見えて大きく成長する年だといわれています。
また、うさぎは跳びはねることから、“飛躍” の象徴です。さらに、たくさんの子を産むことから豊穣、子孫繁栄のシンボルともいわれます。
染めは注染(ちゅうせん)で、生地は「総理」と呼ばれる、20番手の太めの糸を使ったもので打ち込み本数(縦糸、横糸の本数)は少なめですが、厚くて丈夫、ざっくりと目が粗いので通気性と吸水性が高いのが特徴です。
